Welcome to our Winter edition!
Although more Covid-19 outbreaks and resulting lockdowns have slowed the Construction Industry somewhat, most KLMSA projects have been able to continue as planned, with many ongoing updates to our Covid Safe Plan!
We are also very mindful of those businesses in industries other than construction that have not been as fortunate in remaining open throughout the pandemic.
Alexandra Primary School
A welcoming front facade.
Following demolition and removal of an existing building no longer fit for purpose, a new contemporary, modular facility was delivered, then completed onsite.
The building comprised a decked entry to a large foyer, General Office and administration area, 2x classrooms, Staff Resource room and an extensive Therapy/Sensory space with operable wall.
Both soft and hard landscaping services were also provided.

More school classroom buildings and Early Learning Centres to construct, deliver and commission.
KLMSA also have several sports pavilion projects under construction for Melbourne Metropolitan Councils.
There is an urgency to ensure there are additional female-friendly changerooms available as a response to the increased participation of females, particularly in both AFL and soccer.
KLMSA ensure that pavilion designs are compliant with local sporting body requirements, where extensive experience has been gained with requirements for AFL, Football Victoria (Soccer), Tennis Victoria and Netball Victoria.

Modular Construction Technology moving forward
Prefabrication/modular construction is becoming increasingly popular as a cost-effective, less intrusive method of acquiring new permanent facilities with the appearance of an insitu build!
The technology is ever evolving and KLMSA has utilised the ‘Surefoot’ foundation system with several projects. This footing method is a concrete-free alternative to screw piles. High strength, hybrid ‘all-in-one’ steel footings are used to provide a cost-effective way to ground posts of any size without the need for digging, concrete pads or stumps! Images below.
